Meet the Team
Veterinarians
Dr. McMonigle is a 1998 graduate of Washington State. He has dedicated his professional career to creating a warm and caring environment in which he provides excellent medical and surgical care to his patients. Rob's greatest enjoyment is watching his patients grow up - "It's something special to see a young animal grow up and become not just a pet, but part of the family". Rob grew up in Kent, is an avid cyclist and enjoys spending his off-hours with his three children and his German Shorthaired Pointer named Pinto!
Dr. Martinez graduated from University of Wisconsin in 2007. She has experience in general practice and emergency medicine and has a special interest in surgery and preventative care. Maria started working at McMonigle Veterinary Hospital as a Licensed Veterinary Technician in 2007. She has been the Hospital Manager since 2014, but she has recently stepped down to Assistant Hospital Manager, and she will be exiting her role in September 2024.
Maria has enjoyed her time working with the employees and clients of McMonigle Veterinary Hospital. Her favorite times were spent at the front desk helping clients and she will always be thankful she had the opportunity to spend 18 years in a job that she loved!
Receptionists
Miranda joined our team in 2021. Previously, she was trained as a Nursing Unit Coordinator at a hospital in Vancouver, BC. After moving to Washington state, she made the transition to veterinary medicine from human medicine. Miranda and her husband have 2 dachshunds (Fuzzy and Kitty) and 2 kittens (Fern and Finch). Miranda spends her free time hanging out with her friends and family, playing video games with her husband, and attending comic conventions and renaissance faires.
Rhae joined our team in 2022 after gaining some experience in the veterinary field by working at another local veterinary hospital. She spends her free time with her spouse, their 2 chihuahuas (Delilah and Charlie), and 3 kittens (Calliope, Glitch and Lumen). Rhae enjoys playing board and video games with her friends, watching Netflix and discovering different kinds of vegan cuisine.
Diana joined our team in 2021 after retiring from a lifetime career in the Supply Chain industry. She has had pets all her life (including 2 pygmy goats!) and currently has two cats (Lola and Rascal) and one dog (Riley). Diana and her husband like to travel, and she has been to Scotland, New Zealand, Costa Rica, Africa and more! She adores her 2 grandchildren and enjoys working in the garden, reading, art, music and concerts.
Angee, a Florida native, came to Washington in 2015 for vacation and loved it so much that she never went back to Florida. There’s a running joke in her family that she’s on a multiple years long vacation. Angee rejoined the McMonigle team after leaving in 2020 to give birth to her baby girl. In her free time, she enjoys hanging out with her family, binge reading books, and logging entirely too many hours into Animal Crossing

Miri moved to the Seattle/Tacoma area with her husband in 2008 and started working for us in 2014. She graduated from San Juan College and acquired her Veterinary Technician license in 2018. Miri has a dog and a kid who are both quite energetic and keep each other entertained by one-sided games of fetch. In their spare time, Miri and her family enjoy hiking, biking and reading.
Ayla graduated from the PIMA Veterinary Technician program in April 2016 and joined our team in 2021. She has lived in Washington her entire life and met her husband at a manufacturing company for airplane parts in 2012, later marrying in 2018. In their free time she and her husband like to travel and one day wish to see all of the seven wonders of the world!
Sabrina is originally from Juliet, IL but her husband is in the military so they move around a lot! We were lucky that they moved this direction in 2022 and Sabrina joined our team. She obtained her Veterinary Technician license shortly after joining our team, but she has worked in the veterinary field since 2018. Sabrina and her husband have several pets at home (5 cats and 2 dogs!) and they enjoy trips to Disney!

Yamilette has been in veterinary medicine since 2020 after completing the Veterinary Assistant Program at Pima Medical Institute. Her favorite part of veterinary medicine is helping patients who can not speak for themselves and working with the veterinarian to find out what is ailing them. She enjoys giving patients treats and loves to minimize their stress while in hospital. Yamilette also speaks Spanish fluently, which enables her to be extra helpful in ensuring clear communication regarding our patient's needs! Outside of work, Yamilette loves spending time with her four kitties Andy, Blu, Boo and Disco, as well as her dog Mia.
Michelle joined our team in 2023, but has been working in the veterinary field since 2016. She grew up in Renton. Michelle has 3 cats - Scampi, Sassy and Shadow. Since she only has cats at home, she is always happy to get dog kisses while here at the clinic!

Hospital Pets
Mac (orange male) and Poppy (tabby female) were welcomed to our McMonigle family after they were dropped off on our back porch over the holidays. They quickly melted our hearts and found a home with us. They are spunky, yet snugly, and they tried their best to learn the clinic cat life from their older brother Frankie, but they didn't quite pick up all of his lessons. They usually do not venture out to the lobby so don't expect to see them hanging out when you come into the office. Check our Facebook and Instagram pages for more pictures and updates!
Pinto is Dr. Rob's German Shorthaired Pointer that gets to come to the office every day. He loves his friends at the office - both staff and staff pets! He is happiest when he is fetching or swimming!
