Dr. Martinez graduated from University of Wisconsin in 2007. She has experience in general practice and emergency medicine and has a special interest in surgery and preventative care. Angie was born in Southern California, met her husband (a Washington native) while in school in Wisconsin and moved to Washington state after graduation. She enjoys spending time with her husband and their cats - Marty and Winston. Her hobbies include cooking, gardening and cheering on the Seahawks! Angie also speaks fluent Spanish!

Dr. Ruthford graduated from Michigan State University in 2016. She has a special interest in surgery and preventative medicine and has practiced both general and emergency medicine. Amber was born and raised in Michigan and met her husband during an AmeriCorps placement in Tacoma. She enjoys the outdoors, gaming, crafting, travelling, and spending time with friends and family. She has a cat and a golden retriever!

Dr. Murdock graduated from Colorado State University in 2018 after attending Purdue University for her undergraduate studies. Prior to vet school, she worked as a Veterinary Technician in general practice and emergency medicine. She enjoys surgery, dermatology and geriatric medicine. Laurel was born in Alaska and practiced in Idaho for 6 years before moving to Washington.

Dr. Lam graduated from Purdue University in 2019. She has worked in small animal practice, with special interests in soft tissue surgery and emergency medicine. Melissa grew up in the Kent area and met her husband at Washington State University during their undergraduate studies. In her free time, she enjoys gaming, trying new restaurants, traveling, and spending time with friends. She has a rescue Pomeranian named Boo!

Katie graduated from Renton Technical College as an approved veterinary assistant in 2018 and was promoted to hospital manager in 2024. Katie started working on our team while still in school and completed her externship at our hospital. She spends her free time going on walks at local lakes with her dog (Chubby) and her husband.

Rhae joined our team in 2022 after gaining some experience in the veterinary field by working at another local veterinary hospital. She spends her free time with her spouse, their chihuahua, Delilah, and 3 cats, Calliope, Glitch, and Luman. Rhae enjoys puzzles, playing board and video games with her friends, cozying up with a good book (thrillers are her favorite!), learning new crafts, and discovering new ways to veganize recipes.

Diana joined our team in 2021 after retiring from a lifetime career in the Supply Chain industry. She has had pets all her life (including 2 pygmy goats!) and currently has two cats (Lola and Rascal) and two dogs (Jade and Riley). Diana and her husband like to travel, and she has been to Scotland, New Zealand, Costa Rica, Africa, and more! She adores her 2 grandchildren and enjoys working in the garden, reading, art, music, and concerts.

Gary joined our team in 2025 after working in the veterinary field for about 5 years at a specialty/ emergency hospital. He spends his free time playing games. He enjoys board games, like Ticket to Ride, card games, like Magic The Gathering, and video games, like World of Warcraft or Stardew Valley.

Bonnie has worked in veterinary medicine for many years and joined our team in 2025. She spends her free time with her husband and two young children. Bonnie enjoys creating new recipes, BBQing with friends, and midday dance parties with her kids. She has a special interest in allergies and a soft spot for itchy patients. She likes to end the day by snuggling with her dog, Rogue, and two cats, Magnolia and Akasha.

Ayla graduated from the PIMA Veterinary Technician program in April 2016 and joined our team in 2021. She has lived in Washington her entire life and met her husband at a manufacturing company for airplane parts in 2012, later marrying in 2018. In their free time she and her husband like to travel and one day wish to see all of the seven wonders of the world!

Justin has worked in veterinary medicine for 2 years and became a licensed technician in 2024. He is from Washington and has lived in Enumclaw for 10 years. His favorite part of being a technician is feeling like he is making a difference in the lives of animals and being useful to them. Justin enjoys snowboarding, playing video games ( Destiny, Warhammer, and Final Fantasy are his favorites), and EDM music!

Tina graduated from the Pierce College Veterinary Technician program in 2000 and joined our team in 2025. She has been married for 27 years and has 4 kids. In her free time, she likes to attend concerts, see live theater, and cook with her kids. She has 4 cats, 3 dogs, and a menagerie of small exotics.

Chelle started working at our office in 2013 after graduating and completing her externship with us for the PIMA Veterinary Assistant Program. She is currently attending online school to get her technician license. Chelle spends her free time with her 2 cats: Raelle and Harriet Potter.

Kaila started working with our team in 2022 after working as a Kennel Assistant at a specialty/emergency hospital for 2 years. It has always been Kaila's dream to become a veterinarian and she has never wanted to be anything else! After working in emergency, she is leaning towards becoming a Veterinary Radiologist. She has a cat named Fyre at home. Kaila used to dance, and still loves listening to music!

Yamilette has been in veterinary medicine since 2020 after completing the Veterinary Assistant Program at Pima Medical Institute. Her favorite part of veterinary medicine is helping patients who can not speak for themselves and working with the veterinarian to find out what is ailing them.

She enjoys giving patients treats and loves to minimize their stress while in the hospital. Yamilette also speaks Spanish fluently, which enables her to be extra helpful in ensuring clear communication regarding our patients’ needs! Outside of work, Yamilette loves spending time with her three kitties: Andy, Blu, and Boo, as well as her dog, Mia.

Rachel has been a veterinary assistant for the last 2 years and loves caring for pets and pet parents. In her free time, she likes to spend time outdoors hiking/camping, reading novels, and traveling to new places with her friends and family. She has a senior dog (Jammer) and cat (Dipper) who loves to sit in hammocks with her. Her favorite hike was the Enchanted Valley in the Olympics and she hopes to travel to Switzerland in the future.

Michelle joined our team in 2023, but has been working in the veterinary field since 2016. She grew up in Renton. Michelle has 3 cats - Scampi, Sassy and Shadow. Since she only has cats at home, she is always happy to get dog kisses while here at the clinic!

Talia is currently enrolled at Highline College aiming to get her AA degree. She has 4 cats and 2 dogs. Talia volunteers at one of the local animal shelters weekly. In free time, she enjoys taking meditative walks in nature, caring for her succulents, and learning more about crystals. Her career goal is to be an archaeologist!
